LOGISTIC LEADERS NETWORK GALA AND AWARDS DINNER, ST JOHN’S HOTEL SOLIHULL ON THURSDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2019

The RLC Foundation were cordially invited to attend the Logistic Leaders Network Gala and Awards Dinner at St John’s Hotel Solihull on Thursday 14 November 2019. This Awards Dinner recognises those individuals from Industry who have made a significant contribution to supply chain management innovation, science and technology, excellence in logistic leadership and people development. In memory of Lt Col Paul Holder, past Master of the Worshipful Company of Carmen, a Military Logistician of the Year Award was presented for the very first time at the Awards Dinner. Competition for this Award was extremely fierce and we are delighted that Brigadier Mike Caldicott, who has just recently taken over as Commandant of DCLPA was the selected by independent panel, as the winner. One of Brigadier Caldicott’s responsibilities is Professional Development champion for the RLC; and in the words of the Awards panel he has been “a transformational logistics leader who has defined, designed and introduced the reduce logistics need programme; and not afraid to use disruptive technology to advance logistic capabilities in the Army”.

Lt Gen Sir Mark Poffley KCB OBE, Master General of Logistics, as a special guest of the Logistic Leaders Network, headed up a contingent of eight RLC serving and retired officers and soldiers at the Awards Dinner. This was seen as an excellent opportunity to network with new potential industry partners and the RLC Foundation and the Logistic Leaders Network will be planning to co-host a Supply Chain Management event in the near future.
