EXERCISE IRON TITAN – MONDAY 2 OCTOBER 2023

On Mon 2 Oct the RLC Foundation members attended Ex IRON TITAN at West Down Camp, Salisbury Plain Training Area. We were kindly hosted by Brigadier Patch Reehal, Commander 101 Operational Sustainment Brigade and his Team.

Ex IRON TITAN is the largest land exercise which has been conducted in the UK for over two decades.  With a full deployment of an Aviation Brigade, Operational Sustainment Brigade, Deep Recce/Strike Brigade and an Engineer Brigade, it focused in on how they would combat a near-peer threat in Europe. The exercise also focused on sustainment and the logistic battle looking at the major threats identified in Ukraine.

We enjoyed a tour of military stands showcasing new asset tracking technology in the logistic space whilst also demonstrating and exploring together nascent tactics, techniques, and developments.

The finale of the day was the sumptuous curry lunch provided by the chefs from 10 Queens Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment – it was superb!
